Dear Oakes Estates Neighbors:

The Oakes Estates Advisory Board exists to provide for the overall betterment of our community through neighborhood improvements and to protect our interests from outside development. Our organization has developed a very good working relationship with the various Collier County Government departments and agencies. It is through these relationships and the hard work of both present and past board members that so much has been accomplished over the past several years.

Attached please find our “State of our Neighborhood Vision”. Please take the time to read this over so that you may understand the many issues that have been addressed by this board for the betterment of our neighborhood.

Our annual meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 7PM at the North Naples Baptist Church located at 1811 Oakes Blvd. At this meeting we will be electing new board members and new officers. We are also planning on holding a special presentation at that meeting. Our guest speaker will be Doreen Vachon of Downing Fry Reality who will discuss the current state of the local real estate market and how it affects our neighborhood and our house values. Doreen is a long time local resident who has been involved in the local real estate business for many years and she has experience with sales here in the “Estates”. We feel that this is a timely subject that will be of interest to our neighbors.

Our board is also holding our annual membership drive and registration for 2010. Membership dues for the upcoming year will be lowered to $20 per household if paid prior to March 31, 2010. Any membership dues paid after that date will be $25. These membership dues are used to cover our operating costs and to help provide for neighborhood improvements.

We will continue to work hard to protect and to improve our unique neighborhood. I think that we all can agree that Oakes Estates is a great community in which to live and raise a family, but we cannot continue our mission without your financial support of only $25.

I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming annual meeting as well as our monthly meetings which are held on the first Tuesday of each month.
